FUNCTIONServe as the analytic expert using the business planning process as a decision platform for all sales and category initiatives designed to optimize sales, profits, distribution, shelving, pricing and promotional mix for Wrigley brands in the Central Division. BACKGROUNDThe Senior Customer Development Manager reports directly to the Central Division Vice President. Reporting to this position is a Customer Marketing Manager who manages two Administrative Assistants. The incumbent is the teams expert regarding the annual planning process and trade, below the line, cost share, OPEX, and 3rd Party budgets. The position requires continuous interaction with the Team Leaders and account handlers with knowledge of consumption and industry trends, business news, and customer specific opportunities and risks. DIMENSIONSTotal sales revenue generated from the Central Division is approximately $100MM annually Work with the Central Division Vice President and Team Leaders to develop strategic business plans that impact the sales and profits for the Central Division. Work closely with Category Management, Consumer Marketing and Marketing Research (IRI) to utilize appropriate fact-based tools for utilization by the Central Division team.Establish realistic and challenging, but fair, annual customer volume objectives based on consumption trends, industry information and customer specific knowledge that will provide the best opportunity for the Central Division to achieve the annual net sales objective.Process requires understanding national consumption trends as well as key customer specific variances that will impact sales volume.Develop an automated sales tool kit that will allow the Central Division team members to evaluate Wrigley business consistently by looking at standardized business measurements (account business reviews, category management templates, etc.). Review all promotional events through Nielsen/IRI to identify key factors that result in the highest overall sales lifts and reposition funds away from historical programs that have not been successful.Manage the Cost Share, Opex, Below the Line and 3rd Party budgets to ensure the Central Division is within budget and leveraging the dollars to help maximize sales.Manage, train, develop and lead one Customer Marketing Manager and work closely with the Category Management team to identify opportunities to increase volume with the Central Division customers.Represent the Central Division by presenting the annual business plan to Senior ManagementPerform special projects or assignments as requested from the Central Division Vice President This position requires the incumbent to be knowledgeable concerning industry and consumption trends with a strong background in headquarter account management as well as category management. A strong analytical background in consumer data analysis and scan data analysis is essential. The ability to lead, manage and influence people is a key skill set for this role. The ability to manage cross functional/multi task projects simultaneously, strong strategic problem solving skills, strong written, verbal and presentation skills, and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines are essential to be successful in this role. Prior experience in the Consumer Products Industry preferred. A Bachelors degree is required.
